about

Axis Cafe is a space created to be a living room environment amidst this industrial part of town. A hidden gem at the bottom of Potrero Hill, which boasts a spacious heated patio, complete with an indoor/outdoor fireplace and cabanas for lounging.

Envisioned by Mark and Gail Smallcombe, two pastors from Australia, Axis was created in 2004 as a gift to the community as a place to enjoy and relax in the day-to-day, as well as a space to celebrate big life events including weddings, baby showers, birthdays, holidays and more.

Our menu which is headed by General Manager and Executive Chef, Linda Edson, focuses on simple, seasonal ingredients, with Spanish and French influence. We strive to use local, organic ingredients wherever possible.

Designed by Nita Orozco, who transformed an old warehouse and what used to be a mechanic shop into a space that brings some of the best things in life; food, wine, music, art and amazing people together.
